Show your Google reviews on your website

If your business has a Google listing, its rating and reviews can show on your EventVidia website and storefront. You connect it once, in about two minutes, and it stays up to date by itself.

Updated

Three steps

  • Open Settings, then Verification, and choose “Your Google listing” (or “Show your Google reviews” if you are already verified). The website editor’s launch steps and your storefront’s Reviews tab take you straight there.
  • Type your business name and town, and pick your listing from what Google finds.
  • Choose “Text me” or “Call me (landline)”. We send a six-digit code to the phone number shown on that listing. Enter it, and you are connected.

Why we ask for a code

Anyone can search Google for a business, so picking a listing proves nothing. The code goes to the phone number Google shows for the listing, not to a number you type, so only the business that answers that phone can connect it. That stops anyone showing somebody else’s reviews as their own.

The same code also counts towards your verified tick, so if you are not verified yet it does both at once.

What shows, and where

  • Your Google rating, how many reviews you have, and up to five reviews, each with the reviewer’s name as Google shows it.
  • Google chooses which five it shares and in what order; neither you nor EventVidia can pick or hide reviews. A link takes visitors to all of your reviews on Google.
  • They show on your website and your storefront’s Reviews tab when you are on Website Pro, and are kept apart from the reviews customers leave on EventVidia.
  • They are read from Google each time the page is opened, so a new review appears without you doing anything. We keep only your listing’s Google ID, never copies of the reviews.

Questions

My listing has no phone number. What can I do?

Add your phone number to your Google Business Profile first, then try again. If the number is a landline, choose “Call me” and the code is read out to you.

Can I choose which Google reviews show?

No. Google picks up to five it finds most relevant, and visitors can follow the link to read all of them on Google.

Do I need Website Pro?

You can connect your listing on any plan, and it counts towards your verified tick. The reviews show on your website and storefront on Website Pro.

How do I stop showing them?

Settings, then Verification, then “Stop showing them”. We forget your listing’s Google ID and the reviews disappear straight away; your verified tick is not affected.
