Our commitment
Everyone should be able to buy a ticket, answer an invitation, register for an expo or run an event on EventVidia — including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or voice control. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, on the website and in our iPhone and Android apps.
What we have done
- When you move through a page with the keyboard, the control you are on is outlined.
- A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing a keyboard or screen-reader user reaches.
- Dialogs and the payment window keep keyboard focus inside them and return it when they close.
- Buttons that show only an icon, and form fields, have names a screen reader reads out.
- Error messages are announced as soon as they appear.
- We darkened faint grey text on the ticket, checkout and RSVP pages so it is easier to read.
- Card payments run in Stripe’s checkout, which Stripe designs to be accessible.
What we know still needs work
We have not yet had an independent audit, and some parts are not yet right. The pages hosts use to design invitations, badges and floor plans rely on dragging, which is hard without a mouse. Some invitation designs and photos uploaded by hosts carry text inside the image, and some host-uploaded videos have no captions. We are working through these.
Pages that event hosts create — their descriptions, images and documents — are written by the host, and we cannot always make them accessible ourselves. If one stops you, tell us and we will help you reach the host or get you what you need.
Tell us about a problem
If anything on EventVidia is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@eventvidia.com with “Accessibility” in the subject. Say which page, and what you were trying to do. We reply within two business days, and if you need a ticket, an RSVP or a registration done another way while we fix it, we will do it with you.
